After a successful first event last year, the National Australia Indonesia Language Awards (NAILA) is back for their 2nd annual competition that rewards and fosters the development of Indonesian language learning in Australia at all levels. NAILA’s mission is to incentivise language learning and reward high-level proficiency to encourage deeper communication, respect and understanding between the two nations — my two homes.

I had the honor to work with Sally Hill and her wonderful leadership team, made up of dynamic and talented young Australian and Indonesian volunteers, in producing the 2015 video entries highlights as well as releasing the winners’ entries and interview videos with English and Indonesian subtitles.

NAILA 2016 is currently open for submissions until 22 July. This year’s theme is ‘Our Future’. For more info please go to their website: http://naila.org.au.

I look forward to continuing my support for NAILA well into the future!
